About us

We are the New Zealand  Distributor of Books by Keda Cowling

Keda Cowling has long retired from school teaching however, she still enjoys teaching children and adults who have reading difficulties. She also actively continues her research into literacy issues.

For 25 years she has worked on practical ways to help those with reading difficulties.  As a result literally thousands of students have been given the precious gift of literacy.

Keda has written three books, Toe by Toe, Stride Ahead and Stareway to Spelling.  Her books are used in many countries, such as the Republic of Ireland, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, South Africa, Pakistan and the United States of America.  Over the past eight years all three of Keda's books have been used in New Zealand schools and teaching centres.  We have also sent books as far afield as Fiji and Pitcairn Island.

I can’t hear the letters,” said Sam a young adult student studying in the Services Academy at Linwood College.  He was describing his reading difficulties; he knew his brain had failed to make the link between some sounds and letters and he was aware of the gap.  He completed Toe by Toe and was able to pass the entrance examination into the military, one that he had previously failed and that you are only allowed to take twice. Even late intervention can make a significant difference to the lives of many of these students.
